About us – The stuff you never wanted to know &
“Just a bit of photography…”
Sure – and Car Friday is a quiet stroll in the park.
So… a little “About us”? Useless facts? Alright! Since 2013, the founder under the pseudonym TuningHunter has been active as a non-profit photographer in the tuning scene – starting with small Opel meets around Halle (Westphalia) such as Opeltreffen Schieder-Schwalenberg and Opel Fest Frotheim, up to today’s (inter)national top events like Iron City, Spotlight, Gräflich am Grund and the PS Days.
In 2023 we expanded our team with Michi to maintain the same quality at even more events. Together we capture authentic moments, put real tire-smoke vibes into our photo stories, and rely on passion rather than Photoshop filters. Scene by scene, we document what tuning really is – still completely non-profit.
And yes – we’ve already heard that some people come to events because of us. Don’t worry, we won’t put that in flashing letters on a banner. Not yet anyway – but we’re honored.
We stay true to our standards! No cookie-cutter shots – only real eye-catchers with attitude. If you know us, you know: we don’t do things halfway – and certainly not on autopilot.
Because tuning is more than spoilers, volume and fame – it’s culture. And we capture it – scene by scene.

From chess nerd to tuning hunter: He started in 1991 as a chess geek, swapped the clock for a camera in 1992, and shot his first Opel meet in 1996. Since 2013, his lens has been burning for true tuning culture instead of glossy filters – full throttle nonstop for unfiltered images, authentic stories, and pure passion.

Michael, born on July 28, 1989 in Silesia, discovered his passion for photography and cars at an early age. As a child, he followed DTM and Formula 1 races on TV and dreamed of one day capturing the roar of racing engines himself.

Michael, born on October 25, 1990 in Lahnstein, now lives in Münstermaifeld near Mayen. A quiet place – but Michael himself is anything but quiet, at least when it comes to cameras, cars and engines.
